more from the park last week

Image
I edited a few more from that night at the park.... Rob got this net to use as a backstop so we don't have to chase the balls as much This is Logan trying to convince us that it *isn't* getting dark and it's *not* time to go home.

tee ball & stuff

Well, I'm home early. Teri and I took an earlier flight home from Vegas so I can stand in line tomorrow for the kindergarten roundup (I want Nathan in the morning session - wish me luck!). I don't think I really ever want to fly again, thank you very much. Our plane dropped and jerked and shook all the way from Vegas to Burbank. Unfortunately for us, there was a screamer on board. So whenever the plane bounced, she'd scream. When we were about to land, Teri (who isn't afraid of anything) turned to me and said, "This isn't going to be good, Mitzi" and drew a cross on her chest. The plane slammed onto the runway, bounced up, hit the ground again, bounced up, hit the ground, then slid from side to side. When we finally came to a stop, everyone cheered. I am SO glad to be home. Even Logan's crying for the first 45 minutes after I walked in the door was a delight. So, the boys had tee-ball Monday. Rob was super-dad while I was gone. He got them to tee-ball ...

midnight ramblings

I keep getting asked if I am "going back to work" next year. Nope, not returning to teaching just yet. But I AM working. And you know what's weird? I put in MORE hours with photography than I ever did teaching. I never brought home papers to grade or did any prep work at home. At 2:10, I was done. When I am busy with sessions, I am b.u.s.y. Today, for example, I shot all day - 4 sessions (one was a newborn and that took 3 hours). Even when Rob and the kids get home, I'm still not done working. I figure it takes as long to proof the images as it does to take them. So, here it is midnight, and I am not done proofing today's sessions. I am working more hours but I get to pick when I work them and that's the biggest benefit. I love being flexible and getting more time with the kids during the day. Even if it means putting in some late nights. Since I am leaving for wppi on Sunday at the crack of dawn and not coming back until Wednesday, I am having mommy guilt. S...

e-i-e-i-oops

Wowee - did you guys see that Ali has raised over 20,000 dollars for Autism Speaks? And that her badge is in first by like 100 donations? Awesome. Tonight was Megan's school performance. Man, we have a lot of these to look forward to in our lives. They are so stinking cute and the kids are so proud. Megan was a sheep in "E-I-E-I-Oops" about a cow who lost his "moo." All the first graders were in it. Rob had Open House so he missed it and I was faced with the task of keeping a 4 and 3 year old still for the show. Candy. We brought lots of candy. walking back to the car...

autism

If you scrapbook, you know Ali Edwards . And if you are a blog addict like I am, you know that her son Simon has autism and she is raising money for Autism Speaks. And that she has raised over $14,000 already. And that the actor Kevin Bacon will match her donation if her badge is number one on March 31st.

more from vegas

My camera didn't make it over to Tryst. Like I said on the other blog, I need a purse-sized camera. If I had one of those, I could have taken a photo of the 2 deer roaming around by our house today - AGAIN. That is a big huge deal around here. Anyway, thanks to Lise for sending these! In front of the limo that we didn't order but someone got a ride in from Ballys to Wynn. me and Jen the group at the club

rob's bday

Image
We celebrated Rob's birthday a little late this year at his mom's. The kids had fun and the food was yummy as usual. I am proud of this first shot because last year's post on this topic didn't even have a picture with the birthday boy in it! =) Sporting a new haircut and a new gap in the mouth! Rob had to DRIVE to Kmart to get a bat and ball. Because goodness knows a day doesn't pass for the boys without a little baseball! a little monkeying around is always good, too

water play in march

Image
Well, it wasn't really hot or anything here today but warm enough for the water fun to start back up. Logan would jump into water in a snowstorm. My little fish. This child would rather watch. Alex joined the fun and was the last to get out.

scooters jungle

Image
Went again to the mommy/toddler playtime at Scooters Jungle. We had so much fun, we bought a pass for 10 visits (5 if I take both boys) and booked a party for Nathan's birthday.

again.

I know, I know. Get a life. I can't help it - adorable models who don't require bribes.

an afternoon with the princesses

Image
We finally made reservations to eat at Ariel's Grotto where the princesses come right to your table. It was a fun girls-only time for me and Megan.
